Mommy's Tip of the
Week
I don't have any degrees, just
eleven years of experience, four kids, and GREAT parents, from whom
I've learned a lot.

Week 1:
When possible, give your children choices. Not control, but choices. If you ask her " Would you rather wear the
blue dress or the pink one? " she learns to make decisions and feels like you
trust her judgment;
without giving up your authority.
Week 2: PRAY for your children! It's so important to daily pray
for your children. Wherever they are, out playing down the street, or at school.
What might they be facing? Pray for their strength and wisdom in the decisions
they have to make. The Lord knows what they need, just lift them up to
Him.
Rejoice always, pray without
ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18
Week 3 :
DO NOT instill fear in your
children. You can teach them to be careful and cautious without making them
afraid.
For God has not given us a spirit of
fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind. 2 Timothy
1:7
Week 4:
When correcting your children, be
sure not to use idle threats. It is very important to keep your word. If you say
" if you do that again I'll______" when they do it again, you must follow
through! This should also be a good incentive to be very careful what you
threaten them with.
He who is quick-tempered, acts
foolishly. Proverbs 14:17

Week 5:
Be an example for your
children. You can't expect them to "do as I say and not as I do."
Children will remember what you do much longer than what you say.
Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
..not because we do not have authority, but to
make ourselves an example... 2 Thessalonians 3:9 (NKJV)
